KIEV, UKRAINE — As part of the U.S.-Ukrainian Business Forum, which opens July 13 in Washington, D.C., U.S., Ukraine officials will present the investment potential of the country’s agricultural sector.

During the forum, officials will highlight investment areas such as the modernization of irrigation projects in the southern regions and construction of port logistics, said Minister of Agriculture and Food Alex Pavlenko.

"We plan to attract American business to this job and return to Ukraine with specific agreements,” he said.

He added that these projects are to the Mykolayiv region, which traditionally is one of the leaders in agricultural production and exports. For example, restoration of irrigation systems would allow an increase in yields. A draft that is being implemented jointly with the World Bank has passed the technical stage.
