ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, U.S. —  Limited spots remain for two feed industry courses hosted by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and the IGP Institute of the Department of Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University (KSU).

The “establishing a HACCP program for the feed industry” course will be Aug. 31 – Sept. 3 in Manhattan, Kansas, U.S. The course will concentrate on the development of a hazard analysis of critical control points for all industry sectors. In particular it pertains to feed mill managers, quality assurance personnel and ingredient suppliers but it is designed for all within in the industry. The second course “AFIA-500: fundamentals of feed manufacturing” is an online e-learning program that will be Aug. 10 Sept. 11. It allows participants the flexibility to work at their own pace while engaging in online discussions with other participants and the course instructor. Course topics include the process flow from particle size reduction to batching and mixing, conditioning and pelleting, boilers, post-pellet systems, packaging and loadout and maintenance.
