FORTH WORTH, TEXAS, U.S. — Ben Boerner, 55, president of the Texas Grain and Feed Association (TGFA), died on June 2, according to the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA).

Boerner, who was an avid marathoner, suffered a fatal heart attack during his normal evening run.

Boerner joined TGFA in 1986 after receiving his bachelor’s of science and master’s of science degrees in animal science and nutrition from Texas A&M University, according to the TGFA website.

After five years with Oil-Dri Corp. in Chicago, Illinois, U.S., Boerner became the fourth full-time TGFA executive in 1993. He was a member of several organizations including: American Society of Association Executives, Texas Society of Association Executives, Agricultural Association Executives Council, and the Grain, Elevator and Processing Society.
