LENEXA, KANSAS, U.S. — The International Milling Education Fund (IMEF) raised $60,000 in bids and donations during its silent and live auction at the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) Conference & Expo in Palm Springs, California, U.S.

“We were really excited about bringing back the live auction to the conference activities,” said Roy Loepp, IMEF president. “We continue to have great support for the foundation and auctions, in particular. Our allied partners and milling companies have been very generous with their donations on an annual basis.”

More than $860,000 has been raised for IMEF since 2004. The donations ensure that IMEF will be able to continue to inspire leadership and achievement within the milling community as the foundation supports learning and knowledge resources, Loepp said.

One of the recent projects funded by IMEF endowment was the creation of an online career kit at GrainMillingCareers.com. The career kit was designed and developed to promote careers in the grain milling industry. In addition, IMEF funds a scholarship program for milling science students at Kansas State University, as well as professionals in the industry to take the IAOM Correspondence Course in Flour Milling and resident milling courses.
