UZWIL, SWITZERLAND — Stefan Birrer was recently appointed head of the Industrial Milling Business Unit for Bühler. Industrial milling falls under the Grain Milling business area, which is headed up by Johannes Wick. Grain Milling Business Area has five business units — Industrial Milling, Specialty Milling, Bakery & Ingredient Handling, Brewing and Flour Services.
Birrer started his career with Bühler in 1991 as project manager after graduating from the Swiss Milling School. During his time with Bühler he held various functions as head of milling in Mexico, head of operations of Australia & New Zealand and director of the companies Mexico and Central American business. Birrer was most recently responsible for worldwide sales of Bühler’s Grain Milling business unit.
