INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — CHS Inc. and Hansen-Mueller Co., a Midwestern U.S.-based grain merchandising and commodity trading business, announced on Jan. 20 that they have signed a letter of intent for CHS to acquire the Hansen-Mueller assets located in Oberlin and Cedar Bluffs, Kansas, U.S. Upon completion of due diligence and CHS board approval, the transaction is expected to be finalized in late April.

“Investments in country elevators such as these bring tangible benefits to not only our farmer-owners, but to the rural communities where we operate our businesses,” said Lynden Johnson, executive vice-president, Country Operations division of CHS. “These kinds of opportunities strengthen local resources that ultimately help our owners and other customers grow their operations.”

The facilities under review originate corn, winter wheat and milo, with the majority of production being shipped by truck to area cattle feed lots, ethanol plants and milling companies.

Formed in 1979, Hansen-Mueller provides grain merchandising and logistics, commodity trading and feed processing products to customers across the Midwest.
