ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, U.S. — CHS Inc. announced on Jan. 18 that it has acquired Agri Point Limited from East Point Holdings Limited, Nicosia, Cyprus. The Agri Point acquisition is part of the company's ongoing global grain origination expansion, adding approximately 1.5-to-2 million tonnes of corn, wheat and barley.

"Acquiring Agri Point enables CHS to further develop its global competency and presence into the high growth areas of Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia," said Claudio Scarrozza, general manager, CHS Europe, Geneva, Switzerland. "In addition, we're adding important infrastructure to our global supply chain capabilities with a deep-water port in Constanta, Romania, a barge loading facility on the Danube River at Giurgiu, Romania, and an inland grain terminal at Oroshaza, Hungary."


Scarrozza says CHS is executing targeted growth and expansion to fulfill its mission and vision to shareholders of creating value by sourcing agricultural commodities and securing access to consumptive demand worldwide. CHS will have commercial offices in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia, managed by the CHS Europe office, Geneva, Switzerland. CHS also has international grain origination offices in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Geneva, Switzerland; Barcelona, Spain; Kiev, Ukraine; Krasnodar, Russia; Shanghai, China and Hong Kong.
