UTRECHT, NETHERLANDS — Jan van Nieuwenhuizen (1961) will join the executive board of Rabobank Nederland, the company announced on Feb. 27. He will be responsible for wholesale clients in the Netherlands and abroad. He will join the executive board as soon as his appointment is approved by the regulatory authorities.

van Nieuwenhuizen studied business economics and is an experienced banker. He has worked at a number of international banks in the Netherlands and abroad over the past 28 years. He graduated from Université de Fribourg (Switzerland) in 1986 and began his career at JP Morgan in Amsterdam. He was managing director at Morgan Stanley from 1992-2002 and was based in London and Frankfurt. He served as a member of the board of directors at Morgan Stanley AG in Frankfurt from 1999-2002. He joined NIBC Bank in 2002. He served at NIBC from 2004-09 as a member of the managing board. He served as interim chief executive officer since 2008.

van Nieuwenhuizen joined Rabobank in 2009. He is responsible for trade & commodity finance, corporate finance and private equity in his role as Global Head of Professional Products. He will continue to carry out this role until a successor is appointed.
