STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — PerkinElmer, Inc. has agreed to acquire Perten Instruments Group AB from Valedo Partners Fund I AB, the Perten family and key staff in Perten, Perten said on Nov. 26.

Perten, under Valedo’s ownership since 2010, has doubled in size through successful investments in product development and geographical expansion, the company said.

PerkinElmer’s commitment to the food quality testing space and presence in complementary markets combined with Perten’s solid market position and leading product portfolio is an ideal match to further strengthen a leading position in this sector, the company said.

Perten, founded in 1962, develops and markets instruments, along with a food quality calibration database and ancillary services, for advanced quality control of food, grain, flour and feed. Over the last few years, Perten has achieved strong organic growth and today generates an annual turnover of more than €50 million with sales in more than 100 countries. Perten has a global leading position in several product segments which is the result of the development of ground-breaking products, several of which are now industry standards.

PerkinElmer, Inc. is a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment.
