ABUJA, NIGERIA — Agra Innovate Nigeria, a pioneering trade event, taking place on Nov. 18-20, is bringing together international agricultural technology providers and key Nigerian dignitaries, policy makers, agribusiness leaders and entrepreneurs.  The event aims to identify key opportunities for growth, innovation and investment in Nigeria's booming agriculture industry.

"The Nigerian Government and indeed President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan fully support 'Agra Innovate Nigeria,'" said Nigeria's Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, voicing his support for the program. "We look forward to seeing the best of Nigeria's agribusiness community represented at the event."

Agra Innovate Nigeria is offering access to leading Nigerian companies such as Swiss Biostadt, Dizengoff Nigeria and Flour Mills of Nigeria, which is demonstrating new products and services aimed at improving the sector's efficiency and profitability. A wide range of international exhibitors, including BASF, Buhler AG and Silos Cordoba, are in attendance from countries including Germany, Spain, Canada, Turkey, India, South Africa, the U.K., China and the U.S.

The agriculture industry in Nigeria is substantial, employing approximately 70% of the population, and continues to grow through innovative programs. Nigeria is widely known as Africa's leading oil producer, but its large swathes of arable land, particularly in the North, provide Africa's largest economy with additional opportunities to create sustainable jobs and provide food for a burgeoning population.
