SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Harvest is winding down in Queensland, with the Inner Downs and easternmost areas reporting the most activity, GrainCorp said on Nov. 10 in its weekly harvest update.

The company reported that total grain receivals as of Oct. 1 are at 2,494,800 tonnes

Storms across southern Queensland slowed remaining activity somewhat, while some light showers in northern NSW were welcome for summer crop planting. More is required in the coming weeks.

There was plenty of harvesting activity in the Liverpool Plains and central region of the state, where the weather has remained hot and dry.

Harvest is around 25% through in northern grain growing regions of Victoria, while it is just starting further south, including some early deliveries expected from the Western Districts, GrainCorp said.
