ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, U.S. — CHS Inc. announced on Sept. 19 that it has named Sarah Gallo to its government affairs staff as CHS’ Washington representative.

Gallo will be responsible for representing the company's interests on issues related to agriculture at the federal level. She will be based out of the CHS Government Affairs office in Washington, D.C., U.S.

Since 2010, Gallo has served as director of public policy for the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), where she represented the policy interests of corn growers with members of Congress, congressional staff and federal agencies.

In her role at NCGA, Gallo worked with corn growers and the biotechnology industry to build coalitions and help deliver positive outcomes for production agriculture and biotechnology, along with advocating for trade issues benefiting producers and agriculture.  She also served as NCGA's lead staff person for MAIZALL, an international corn growers alliance formed in January 2013 with maize growers associations in Brazil and Argentina.

Before joining NCGA, Gallo served as agriculture counsel with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business, where she served as the primary point of contact on agricultural issues related to small businesses. Previously, she was a government relations representative for the National Farmers Union, where she lobbied members of Congress, staffers and federal agencies on programs included in the 2008 farm bill, environment and natural resource issues, biotechnology, renewable energy and climate change.

Gallo received a bachelor's degree in biology from Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.
