NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO, CANADA — The International Milling Education Foundation (IMEF) raised $50,000 from silent and centerpiece auctions during the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) Conference & Expo in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, IAOM said on May 17.

“We are impressed by the great results, especially considering we had decided not to hold a live auction this year,” Joel Hoffa, IMEF president said. “The industry continues to provide outstanding support for this annual event. Because of the generosity of companies and individuals across the industry, we’re able to continue to deliver outstanding numbers for the good of the foundation.”

In addition to the money raised during the auction activities, several companies pledged and presented checks to the IMEF while in Niagara Falls.

The donations ensure that IMEF will be able to continue to inspire leadership and achievement within the milling community as the foundation supports learning and knowledge resources.

One of the projects funded by the IMEF endowment is a scholarship program for milling science students at Kansas State University. For the second consecutive year, two students will receive an IMEF scholarship for the coming academic year. The recipients, Karl Janke and Bradley Schultz, will each receive $2,500 from IMEF.
