WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. — The U.S. rice industry mourns the passing of Raymond L. Franz, 75, a rice farmer and industry leader from Katy, Texas, U.S., USA Rice Federation said on April 1.
Franz served the rice industry in numerous capacities throughout his adult life, including leadership roles in rice organizations at the local, state and national levels. He was chairman of the USA Rice Council in 1996-97.
Franz is survived by his wife, Joan, two sons, two daughters, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
