OMAHA, NEBRASKA, U.S. — Gavilon, LLC announced on Aug. 4 its plans to establish a second commodity management office in Australia to expand origination, transportation and logistics, marketing and distribution, and risk management services in the Asia-Pacific region. The new office will support the origination of wheat and other commodities in Australia, as well as destination marketing activities in the Asia-Pacific region.

"We are pleased to be increasing our participation in the Australian origination market," said David Levine, vice-president of Gavilon’s international division. "Australia will continue to play an important role in our overall global growth strategy. The new office will complement Gavilon’s current activities in the region."

Gavilon’s Brisbane office merchandises feed ingredients, animal fats and animal proteins. The office provides sales, marketing and transportation services for those commodities, linking domestic and Western supplies with Pacific Rim demand.
