CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA — Viterra Inc. said on Aug. 27 that only approval from China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) is needed for the proposed acquisition of Viterra by Glencore International plc to proceed.
Glencore continues to engage with MOFCOM to ensure approval under the Chinese Anti-Monopoly Law as soon as possible. MOFCOM is now expected to continue its review into September. Viterra and Glencore will update the market in due course when they expect closing of the acquisition to occur.
