MANHATTAN, KANSAS, U.S. — The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA)-Kansas State University (KSU) Advanced Feed Manufacturing Short Course is planned Oct. 8-11 at the International Grains Program (IGP) Conference Center at KSU. It explores, in detail, the major elements of food safety in feed manufacturing.

The Department of Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University, in partnership with industry associations, has held Feed Manufacturing Short Courses since 1976. These courses are taught by a unique blend of individuals from KSU and within the feed and allied industries and provide in-depth training on all aspects associated with feed manufacturing.

Course topics include grain handling and storage; good manufacturing practices; pellet mill performance; pellet coolers; post pellet liquid application systems; quality control and sanitation programs; mold and mycotoxins; environmental policies; OSHA regulations; food modernization act; and feed safety SF/SF.

Participants are encouraged to make hotel reservations as soon as possible due to high demand of hotel rooms in the area for the weekend of Oct. 5 to 7.
