WASHINGTON, DC, US — The US Grains Council (USGC) has hired Sarah McLeeson as its new trade policy coordinator.

Joining the USGC at its Washington, DC, headquarters, McLeeson will be responsible for organizing staff and member travel, making arrangements for visiting trade teams and facilitating program planning and execution.

McLeeson received a bachelor’s degree in political science with an economic study and sustainability emphasis from Dayton University. She has held internships at organizations such as the National Conference for Community and Justice of Greater Dayton, the Greater Cleveland Partnership and the Hall Hunger Initiative.

“Sarah is joining us at an exciting time for the Council and will provide invaluable support to the trade policy department,” said Andrew Brandt, director of trade policy for the USGC. “Her interest in renewable sources of energy and international economics will help her fit right into the Council’s global network.”

With a full-time presence in 28 locations, the USGC operates programs in more than 50 countries and the European Union in support of export markets for US barley, corn, sorghum and related products, including distiller’s dried grains with solubles and ethanol.
