WASHINGTON, DC, US — The Corn Refiners Association (CRA) has added Ameya Khanapurkar as its new project and policy coordinator, following a successful term as the organization’s intern.

In this role — an expansion of the existing CRA staff — Khanapurkar will support a variety of efforts, including the Carbohydrate Check Sample Program, the weekly CRA Trade Update, research work and more.

“Ameya is exactly the kind of person we need to meet the growing needs of the Corn Refiners Association, and I am excited to have him join us as a member of our talented staff,” said John Bode, president and chief executive officer of the CRA. “The contributions that Ameya will provide in this new position will be incredibly valuable as we grow our work to advance the ag bioeconomy. I’m particularly pleased to have Ameya join us in the office once again to continue the strong work he delivered as a recent CRA intern, a program that continues to develop top-tier talent in food and agriculture policy.”

Khanapurkar also recently completed a research internship with the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is a graduate of Boston University, where he studied history, political science and economics.

The CRA is the national trade association representing the corn refining industry of the United States. In addition to his roles and responsibilities with the CRA, Khanapurkar will support the Plant Based Products Council’s membership recruitment efforts.

“After a great experience as an intern, I’m excited to rejoin my colleagues at CRA,” Khanapurkar said. “This industry offers a valuable opportunity to advance American agriculture, and I am eager to support the efforts to advance the policy priorities of the ag bioeconomy.”
