WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — Ag Growth International Inc. (AGI) released its 2024 Sustainability Report, showing the progress it has made on employee safety, greenhouse gas emissions, employee engagement and more.

“I am inspired by the dedication and efforts of our global workforce to advance our sustainability strategy and related goals,” said Paul Householder, president and chief executive officer of AGI. “Over the past year, we have made measurable progress in reducing our environmental impact, fostering a safe and inclusive culture, and upholding the highest standards of governance and ethics. By driving these initiatives forward, we are enhancing the long-term resilience of our business.”

The company said it reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 16%, putting it on track to achieve its target of reducing intensity by 25% by 2030.

AGI said it contributed to global food security with on-farm grain storage, with newly installed bins protecting 6.5 million tonnes of incremental grain from spoilage.

In Bangladesh, AGI is a key partner in the Bangladesh Modern Food Storage Facilities Project to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of grain storage management at the country level, ultimately to meet the country’s food security needs. AGI supplied 15 flat-bottom silos, providing a total storage capacity of 48,000 tonnes. Prior to the supply of AGI equipment, rice was being stored in jute bags, a temporary storage method that can lead to significant losses. Storage capacity was only 300 tonnes.

In Africa, AGI supports customers and farmers by providing the necessary equipment to blend and store fertilizers. Fertilizers play a key role in ensuring soil health and increasing crop yields, which are essential for meeting agricultural growth targets and ensuring long-term food security.

At its facilities, AGI saw significant improvement in its safety performance.  Its lost time incident rate decreased by 46% while the total recordable incident rate dropped 49% compared to 2023, according to the company.

AGI also achieved 100% compliance on annual employee ethics confirmation and more than 96% of its global workforce completed training on unconscious bias.
