LITTLETON, COLORADO, US — Tim O’Connor, president of the Wheat Foods Council WFC, is leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities.

A spokesperson for the WFC thanked O’Connor for his years of service to the group and said the organization’s board will be meeting next month as scheduled in Minneapolis June 17-19 to “chart WFC’s next chapter.” Oversight of the group will be left to its board of directors in the interim.

O’Connor had led WFC since July 2015, when he succeeded Judi Adams. The WFC was established in 1972 by six state wheat commissions to raise public awareness of grains, complex carbohydrates and fiber as essential components of a healthful diet. In recent years, the WFC has focused on the development of educational and nutritional programs that target health, nutrition, and fitness professionals, opinion leaders, media, chefs, and consumers.

The Council is supported voluntarily by wheat producers, millers, bakers and related industries.
