MOUNDRIDGE, KANSAS, US — Producer Ag, LLC, a strategic grain marketing joint venture between CHS Inc. and Mid-Kansas Cooperative (MKC), has named Mike Tate president, effective June 2.
Tate will lead the day-to-day supply chain operations, driving strong performance and profitability, while working with the Producer Ag board of directors to set strategic direction, the board said in its May 15 announcement.
Tate joins Producer Ag from Bunge Global SA where he held grain origination, operations and supply chain leadership roles for more than 20 years. Most recently he was director of origination, helping develop the origination strategy for the company’s US-based grain assets and soy processing facilities.
During his time at Bunge, he also worked across several key areas of the supply chain, including as southern district manager, as export facility manager in Louisiana, as general manager of an ethanol facility and as district commercial manager in Mississippi.
Tate holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Louisiana State University and is a board member at key trade associations, including the National Grain and Feed Association.
“Mike’s deep and vast experience in grain operations, supply chain and asset management, as well as his close connection to customers throughout his career make him the ideal choice for this position,” said Brad Stedman, Producer Ag board chair and president and chief executive officer of MKC. “This is a pivotal time for Producer Ag as we advance our mission to connect customers to grain markets worldwide. I am excited to welcome Mike to Producer Ag and work alongside him to position the joint venture for success.”
Producer Ag was established in 2023 by Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, US-based CHS, a leading global agribusiness and the largest farmer-owned cooperative in the United States, and MKC, a farmer-owned service cooperative operating in four states with headquarters in Moundridge, Kansas, US.
The Producer Ag grain marketing joint venture enhances the value of an end-to-end cooperative supply chain in the US Southern Plains, broadening market access and patronage-eligible options to optimize owner value. The partnership aims to create an efficient, integrated supply chain that drives long-term growth and market access.
