PESQUERÍA, MEXICO — Transportation and logistics company Bulkmatic de Mexico, which operates the most extensive network of railway terminals in Mexico, is investing $250 million to construct a new intermodal terminal in Pesquería, Nuevo León.

The new terminal, which had a ceremonial groundbreaking May 9, will focus on the handling of bulk materials, particularly grain, and will optimize the supply chains of strategic industries such as food, plastics, chemicals and energy, according to the government of Nuevo León.

The terminal, which will be built on a 100-hectare industrial site near Monterrey International Airport, will be able to receive up to two unit trains, primarily focusing on grain storage. It will have the capacity to handle up to 1,300 rail cars, making it one of the largest in the country and will be connected to the CPKC de Mexico and Ferromex rail systems.

The facility is expected to be in operation during the second quarter of 2026 and will be the largest of its kind in Mexico, creating more than 2,300 new direct and indirect jobs, the governor’s office said.

“With the arrival of companies like Bulkmatic, Nuevo León is consolidated as a logistics hub in Mexico, which is why we are proud to accompany them from the beginning of their facilities in the state,” said Emmanuel Loo, head of the state's Ministry of Economy.

Bulkmatic de Mexico is a subsidiary of Bulkmatic Transport Co., which operates a network of bulk transportation services in the United States, Mexico and Colombia with headquarters in Griffith, Indiana, US.
