TOPEKA, KANSAS, US — Andrew Fullerton, director of origination and project development at Bartlett Grain, A Savage Company, was elected chairman of the Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) by the board of directors and at-large membership during the association’s 129th annual meeting.
KGFA membership also re-elected Alex Gerard of Viterra and Devin Schierling of MKC to its board of directors, while Jonathan Mayes of Cargill and Janell Smit of Ashland Feed and Seed Co. joined the board as new members during the April 14-15 event in Wichita, Kansas, US.
Fullerton, who grew up on a farm and ranching operation in Nebraska and has been with Bartlett for 15 years, becomes the 90th chairman of the KGFA. He said the association has a long history of advocacy on behalf of agriculture.
“I am honored to be the incoming chairman, and I would like to thank the KGFA membership and its board of directors for this opportunity,” Fullerton said. “I would also like to thank the staff of KGFA for the important work they do for the agriculture industry, and how they continue to strengthen the value proposition of membership for our industry participants. I look forward to working with association staff more closely, as we continue to serve our members and further strengthen our association.”
Along with its leadership elections, KGFA’s 129th annual meeting hosted nearly 150 of the association’s active capacity and associate members for networking and educational sessions, and hearing from state leaders about issues impacting Kansas agriculture. KGFA also bestowed its most prestigious honor, the Sunflower Award, to Gary Gantz of D.E. Bondurant Grain Co. Gantz served a 10-year stint on the KGFA’s board of directors and was chairman from 2009-11.
