PORTLAND, OREGON, US — Grain Craft has reached an agreement with the Port of Portland for a long-term lease extension for the company’s flour mill property in Portland.

Located at the Port of Portland’s Terminal 4, Grain Craft has operated the mill since 2014 when it acquired Cereal Food Processors. Originally Termina Flour Mills, the Portland facility began operations in the 1940s and was purchased by Cereal Food Processors in 1982.

The mill currently has daily production capacity of 8,700 cwts of flour and mills both hard red winter and hard red spring wheat for bread, tortilla, high-gluten, whole wheat and cracked-wheat flour. The mill is served by the Union Pacific Railroad.

“This long-term lease extension solidifies our commitment to our customers in the Pacific Northwest,” said Alan Koenig, chief supply chain officer. “We are grateful for the long-standing and collaborative relationship we have with the port, and we are excited to be able to continue bringing our PNW customers a high-quality flour with efficient and economic freight.”

In addition to the Portland mill, Chattanooga, Tennessee, US-based Grain Craft operates 14 US mills as well as the Grain Craft Innovation & Quality Lab in Manhattan, Kansas, US. In mid-April, Grain Craft said it was acquiring the corn milling assets in North America of Bunge Global SA.
