MORTON, ILLINOIS, US — 4B Components expanded its line of high-tech sensors with Milli-Vib, a compact sensor that continuously monitors vibration.
“We wanted to design a reliable solution that scales with the amount of vibration and is simple to use,” said Brian Knapp, vice president, Electronics Division. “With the wear and damage that vibration can cause on equipment, we knew it was critical to provide a sensor that did more than flip on and off with machinery vibration — this provides protection in addition to data trending capabilities.”
Compact and with a 4-20 mA output, Milli-Vib continuously monitors vibration with precision and simplicity. Simply install it on the machine or structure, then get a baseline and set alarms relative to that baseline.
“Milli-Vib provides the repeatability and reliability the industry has been asking for, combined with simple setup and installation that’s non-negotiable in today’s fast-paced world,” Knapp said. “The analog 4-20 mA output will be proportional to the sensor’s vibration range, for better overall visibility to machine or structure status.”
In key high-speed industrial applications such as hammer mills or fans for dust collection systems and pneumatic conveying systems, Milli-Vib provides earlier advanced notice of out-of-balance machinery.
Milli-Vib also offers the benefit of being hazardous area approved without an additional barrier.
