ORLANDO, FLORIDA, US — Applications are being accepted for the 2025 Women in Agribusiness (WIA) Student Scholarship Award, which provides complementary registration and accommodations at the 2025 WIA Summit Sept. 22-24 in Orlando, Florida, US.
The deadline for submitting applications is July 13.
The WIA Student Scholarship Program provides more than $100,000 each year to enable students from accredited colleges and universities to attend the summit and gain industry knowledge, form valuable industry connections and mentorships, and evaluate career paths in agribusiness. Over the program’s 13-year history, $1.365 million has been awarded, which has benefited nearly 400 young women pursuing careers in ag.
Scholarships are awarded to full-time students – from freshman level through doctorate degree – and paired, as possible, with industry sponsors in their field of study. Schools represented have included Colorado State University, Cornell University, Iowa State University, Kansas State University and many more.
The opportunities for students to connect on site at the WIA Summit are numerous. There is an exclusive student breakfast, lunch, and workshop as well as meetings with their sponsoring companies.
“WIA taught me the importance of prioritizing and making space to be filled up by women on similar paths,” said Anna Grace Goode, who upon graduation from the University of Georgia went to work for Syngenta, representatives of which she met at the WIA Summit. “When it comes to building a career within the male-dominated industries of agriculture and technology, female friendship has made all the difference.”
WIA Student Scholarship eligibility:
- Applicants must be full-time students in good academic standing at an accredited college or university. Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level students are eligible to apply. Note: Preference will be given to undergraduate students at the junior or senior level.
