LOCHEM, NETHERLANDS — ForFarmers and team agrar, part of the DLG Group, have completed the formation of their joint venture, announced on Sept. 4, 2024, which will combine their feed operations in Germany. Eight feed production locations, three storage and transshipment terminals and a vehicle fleet are involved in the joint venture.

All conditions for the transaction have been met, including approval from the local competition authority, the companies said.

ForFarmers and team agrar have been working together in Germany for many years through their joint venture HaBeMa, a company active in the trade, storage and transshipment of raw materials and compound feed production in Hamburg, Germany.

The 50/50 joint venture, which will operate under the name ForFarmers team agrar, involves the feed activities of ForFarmers in Germany with approximately 250 employees and the feed activities of team agrar in Germany with approximately 130 employees. The current HaBeMa joint venture, which has 130 employees, is also part of the joint venture.

The companies said the joint venture is in line with the strategic ambition of both partners, which is to better serve the German market, create new growth opportunities and leverage each other’s strengths with the aim of increasing profitability.

The management of the new joint venture will consist of Ernst Friedlaender (ForFarmers), Markus Green (team agrar) and Jes-Christian Hansen (HaBeMa). Friedlaender will be the managing director.
