WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — G3 Canada has unveiled plans to build a new 65,000-tonne grain terminal facility at the Port of Trois- Rivières, Quebec, Canada. The new facility will replace an existing facility “to improve efficiency, safety and reduce environmental impact,” the company said.
G3 said the facility will feature improved truck circulation to streamline operations. It will have three high-speed receiving lanes, which G3 said will significantly reduce wait times and increase grain handling capacity.
In addition, G3 said it will install three modern ship loaders, each with dust control technology to lessen environmental impact. The company also plans to redevelop port infrastructure to improve the flow of traffic to and from the Port of Trois- Rivières.
“G3 is excited to make this significant investment in the Port of Trois-Rivières,” said Don Chapman, CEO of G3. “This new facility will strengthen our commitment to Quebec producers and will provide an improved experience for our customers while supporting the growth of the region’s grain industry.”
G3 said it will begin demolition of its current silos in March.
As a rapidly growing player in Quebec, G3 specializes in importing and exporting grains such as corn, soybeans, wheat and rye. The Trois-Rivières and Quebec City terminals are strategically positioned to serve most agricultural producers and to accommodate ships of all sizes transiting through the St. Lawrence Seaway.
