BANGKOK, THAILAND — FIAAP, VICTAM & GRAPAS Asia 2012 attracted thousands of industry executives, organizers said on April 18.

The event, now at BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand, attracted 6,198 visitors, 10% more than the last show in 2010. An increase also was seen in the number of delegates attending the numerous technical conference and seminars that were held during the show days in February.

More than one third of all visitors to the exhibitions were of director level, again demonstrating the high level of the quality and status of the visitors, exhibitors said. Visitors came from 73 countries.

The exhibitions co-located with the VICTAM show also proved popular. The GRAPAS show, the event for grain processing, rice and flour milling, brought in new visitors.

The FIAAP exhibition, the show for feed ingredients and additives, attracted a lot of attention, with 52% of the visitors looking for ingredients and additives. A number of these visitors also commented that they would like to see more ingredient and additive suppliers at the 2014 exhibition.

The exhibitions, which were 40% larger in area and had more exhibitors than the last shows in 2010, provided the perfect platform to launch new products and services to the market. Almost 30 new products were on show. Some of these were awarded the highly coveted “Innovations Awards”.

The winners were:

  • The FIAAP Animal Nutrition Award – Dr. Eckel GMBH
  • The Aquafeed Innovation Award – Wenger Manufacturing Inc.
  • The 2012 GRAPAS Award for Milling – FOSS

Visitors and exhibitors all agreed that the new home of the event, BITEC was excellent. Show organizers, Victam International B.V., said that their next event will be held again at BITEC. Unfortunately the exhibition halls were not available in February and March 2014 so for just that year they will be held in April. In 2016 the event will return in February/early March.
