TOLEDO, OHIO, US – A 1-million-bushel capacity grain bin collapsed on Jan. 21 at The Andersons’ terminal in Toledo, Ohio.
The incident occurred at The Andersons’ facility on Kuhlman Drive, one of the company’s three grain storage complexes located in Toledo.
No injuries were reported as the bin collapsed at 9:10 pm, when no employees were at the facility, Cheryl Vion-Hasenaur, a spokesperson for The Andersons, told World Grain. She said there was structural damage to adjacent structures on the property which are being assessed.
The cause of the bin’s collapse is under investigation, she said.
Grain storage capacity at the facility is 7.2 million bushels, according to Sosland Publishing Company’s2025 Grain & Milling Annual. The Andersons ranks seventh in grain storage capacity in North America at 179 million bushels at its 73 facilities.
