MANHATTAN, KANSAS, U.S. — Kansas State University (KSU) and Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technologies (IICPT), Ministry of Food Processing Industries, along with Assocom-India are organizing a short course on ‘Innovations in Food Processing - Technology, Applications and Challenges’ on  April 5-6 at IICPT facilities in Thanjavur, Tamilandu, India.

This short course will focus on the innovations in food processing technologies such as extrusion and thermal processing, applications focused on value-added utilization of fruits,  vegetables, meat and grain, and challenges related to quality control, food safety and nutrition. Speakers from KSU, North Carolina State University, IICPT and the U.S. processing industry will provide their perspectives.

The seminar will be particularly useful for scientists, teachers and professors from academia (from disciplines such as food science, nutrition, human ecology, home science and engineering), and also small, medium and large-scale businesses that have interest in production of value added food and feed products using extrusion and other technologies. Industry participants can include food technologists, quality assurance managers, quality controllers, process engineers, packaging and machinery suppliers, retailers, food regulators, food distributors, food and feed ingredients manufacturers/ suppliers, animal nutrition specialists, pet food producers, aquaculture, poultry and cattle feed producers, and farmers.
