LIWA, OMAN — Sohar Flour Mills inaugurated 160,000 tonnes of grain storage at Sohar Industrial Port in Liwa, Oman, Trade Arabia reported.

The $54 million project is aimed at bolstering storage in order to cover local consumption for longer periods.

Haitham Al Sa’adi, chairman of Sohar Flour Mills, said the grain storage project adds to Oman’s food security system. It is part Oman Flour Mills’ contribution to strengthening food security and securing strategic reserves in the country.
