MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, U.S. — Grain company professionals will have more training options available next year, as the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and Kansas State University (KSU) said on Nov. 26 that they have expanded and upgraded their distance education program. A total of 19 online courses will be offered in 2013, up from 14 this year and 12 in 2011.
The schedule includes five new or updated courses, including “Introduction to Grain Operations,” “Grain Quality Management,” “Grain Elevator Equipment Maintenance,” “Grain Facilities Planning & Design” and “Preventing Grain Dust Explosions.”
Two or three courses will be offered in January, February, March, April, May and November. Each lasts five weeks for a total of 10 course hours. Six of the courses will count toward the new GEAPS/KSU Credential in Grain Operations Management.
