BEIJING, CHINA — China plans to increase its grain stockpiling program with the addition of 10.85 million tonnes of storage capacity, Reuters said, citing official media reports.

Sinograin will build 120 storage facilities in 18 provincial administrations this year.

Beijing has strengthened its focus on food security and pledged to increase grain supplies. China has more than 650 million tonnes of grain storage capacity.

The total volume of China's grain reserves is not made public and information about the state stockpile is usually hard to come obtain, Reuters said.
