REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA — Vladimir Barisic has been named executive manager for Argentina of Viterra, effective May 1. He succeeds Sergio Gancberg, executive director South America, who retired from Viterra on April 30.

Barisic has been with Viterra for 15 years, including five years in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he held the role of global director of soy and soybean oil.

In 2019, he returned to Argentina as commercial manager for South America. Barisic graduated as an agricultural production engineer from the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA).  In his new role Barisic will also oversee Paraguay and Uruguay.

“I would like to personally thank Sergio for his dedication and leadership over the years.  His many accomplishments have created pathways for further growth for our South American business,” said David Mattiske, chief executive officer of Viterra.  “As we move forward, Vladimir’s vast experience and management skills will allow us to further build on growth opportunities within our agriculture network.”

Viterra operates in 37 countries with a network of storage, processing and transport assets and employs more than 17,500 people.
