WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — G3 on Dec. 18 announced the opening of three new grain elevators in Alberta: G3 Wetaskiwin, G3 Stettler County and G3 Irricana.

G3 said that G3 Wetaskiwin and G3 Stettler County are in full operation, and G3 Irricana will begin receiving grain shortly.

The new elevators are able to accommodate truck unloading of grain in less than 5 minutes, while trains up to 150 cars can load in continuous motion on the loop track in a matter of hours. The elevators ship grain to G3 Terminal Vancouver, G3’s export terminal that opened earlier this year.

“These new elevators are part of the growing network of high-efficiency G3 facilities that is transforming how grain moves across Canada,” said Don Chapman, chief executive officer of G3. “And we’re excited to be part of the communities in and around Wetaskiwin, Stettler County and Irricana.”

G3 has six new elevators in Alberta. G3 Carmangay and G3 Morinville opened earlier this year; G3 Vermilion is under construction and due to open in 2021. In Saskatchewan, G3 Swift Current is under construction and due to open in 2021.
