BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS, U.S. — Brent Ericson has been named vice-president, grain, for GROWMARK, effective Nov. 1, the cooperative announced on Sept. 23. Ericson replaces Davis Anderson, who retired in September.

As vice-president, grain, Ericson will be responsible for the overall management, oversight, support and growth of GROWMARK’s grain business, which includes 80 grain members and companies in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Combined, the 80 companies market approximately 1 billion bushels of grain and oilseed annually into river, rail, and processor markets.

Ericson has three decades of experience in the grain business, the majority of which is with the GROWMARK System.

Ericson joined the GROWMARK System in 1981 as an associate merchandiser for the Creve Coeur grain facility, where he also served as assistant manager. In 1983, Ericson joined MID-CO COMMODITIES, a GROWMARK subsidiary, where he served as senior commodity hedging advisor. Ericson was grain marketing manager of Midland Enterprises in 1989 and 1989, returning to the GROWMARK System in 1989 as general manager of Grainco, Inc., a GROWMARK grain member. In 1999, Grainco merged with Kendall-Grundy FS to form GRAINCO FS, and Brent was named general manager, the position he currently holds.

Ericson received his bachelor’s of science degree in agricultural business from Western Illinois University.
