CAIRO, EGYPT — Egypt has stopped travel by its wheat inspectors after the country shut down air traffic to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Reuters reported.

Egypt is the world’s largest wheat buyer.

Delegations in Russia and Ukraine will return to Egypt and be put in a 15-day quarantine. One delegation will stay in France pending additional announcements on a curfew or travel restrictions from that nation. They have been in France for two days and will continue inspecting a large wheat cargo for 17 days, unless France announces a curfew or travel ban, Reuters said.

The port of origin inspections restarted in December following a nearly two-year hiatus. Some said inspections at ports or origin made the process smoother once the wheat arrived in Egypt.
