MASSENA, NEW YORK, U.S. — St. Lawrence Soyway Co. is planning to build a $54 million soybean processing plant in Massena, according to WWNY-TV.
The facility will process soybeans into livestock feed, as well as produce soy oil.
“It’s very positive,” Vance Fleury, chair of the Massena Town Planning Board, said during a recent planning meeting. “It’s really a clean industry and perfect utilization of this property.”
The news agency noted that the new processing plant could be operational by next harvest season.
