KIEV, UKRAINE — Ukraine’s grain exports in the 2018-19 season have reached 46.1 million tonnes and are ahead of last year’s totals from the same time period, Reuters reported, citing the agriculture ministry.

In the same period last year, the country had exported 36.4 million tonnes of grain.

Overall, Ukraine harvested a record 70 million tonnes of grain in 2018, up from 61 million tonnes in 2017.

The agriculture ministry said exports could reach 49 million tonnes in the season that ends in June, up from 39.4 million tonnes in the previous season.

As of May 29, Ukraine had exported nearly 27 million tonnes of corn and 14.9 million tonnes of wheat.
