PADOVA, ITALY — Bedeschi will supply a ship loading system to Cargill for the refurbishment and upgrade of its facility in Westwego, Louisiana, U.S., on the Mississippi river.

Bedeschi will engineer, manufacture, install and commission, through its U.S. branch in Deerfield Beach, Florida, a shuttle type ship loading arm. It will be able to load grains and oilseeds at 80,000 bph (2,200 tph) on vessels up to 120,000 dwt.

The equipment will be preassembled in Italy and shipped to the New Orleans area in three main parts in order to minimize the downtime during the erection.

Bedeschi will perform the project as well as mechanical and electrical works on a turnkey basis. In this project, Bedeschi will work with Lanier & Associated, Engineering from New Orleans.

This machine features enclosed belt conveyors and a Vortex dust free telescopic chute. The overall features are similar to the three towers shuttle type shiploaders successfully installed in 2015 at the CMT terminal in Convent, a few miles north.
