WASHINGTON, D.C., U.S. – Former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Thomas J. Vilsack will testify May 21 before the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry as part of a hearing titled “Climate change and the agriculture sector.”

The participation of Vilsack, currently president and chief executive officer of the U.S. Dairy Export Council, was announced by committee chairman Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas and ranking member Debbie Stabenow of Michigan.  Other witnesses include Debbie Lyons-Blythe, Blythe Family Farms, White City, Kansas, U.S.; Frank Mitloehner, professor, Department of Animal Science, University of California, Davis; and Matthew Rezac, Rezac Farms, Weston, Nebraska, U.S.

Before serving as Secretary of Agriculture from 2009 and 2017, Vilsack was Governor of Iowa from 1999 to 2007.
