VILLARTA DE SAN JUAN, SPAIN — Symaga has increased the galvanization for its silo roofs, increasing the zinc magnesium from ZM250 to ZM310.

The increase will lengthen the service life of its silos, the company said. The roof is the portion of the silo most directly exposed to corrosion.

Alongside major steel producers, Symaga said it works constantly to find the most efficient galvanization formula for all silo components. The objective of these collaborations is to study the optimal coatings for each manufactured part.

ITECAM has contributed to this development, carrying out several tests in a neutral salt fog chamber (nss tests) according to ISO 9227: 2012, to verify service life.
