ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, U.S. — Registration is now open for the online five-week feed manufacturing course to he hosted April 15 – June 3 by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and Kansas State University (KSU).

The AFIA 500: Fundamentals of Feed Manufacturing distance education program will provide attendees with an understanding of the feed manufacturing process, while allowing participants to work at their own pace and engage in online discussions with other students and university instructors.

“This course is an excellent resource for anyone needing a broad base of knowledge about feed manufacturing,” said Gary Huddleston, director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs at the AFIA. “Over 500 people from around the world have taken advantage of this affordable and convenient course.”

The feed technology group in KSU’s Department of Grain Science and Industry developed AFIA 500 in 2010. The course covers a variety of topics, including: the process flow from particle size reduction, to batching and mixing, conditioning and pelleting, boilers, post-pellet systems, packaging and loadout, and maintenance.

Program fees are $499 for members and $685 for nonmembers. The deadline to register is Friday, March 29. Visit the course website for more information and to register.
