GENEVA, SWITZERLAND and SINGAPORE — Global Commodities Group (GCG), Geneva, organizers of the Annual Global Grain Conference, announced on June 15 the formation of a joint venture company with The Centre for Management Technology (CMT), Singapore, organizers of the World Grains Summit, to launch Global Grain Asia in Singapore in early March 2012.

Andrew Osborne, managing director of GCG said, “We have been approached by many companies in the grain trade to replicate the format and success of the Global Grain Geneva conference in the Asia region. However, we are very aware of the number of new conferences and events appearing in the ‘grain calendar’ and the time and travel constraints of our clients. We therefore wanted to join together with an existing conference provider to organize the one ‘must attend Asian event’, and are delighted to be working with the highly professional CMT team who also have over 28 years experience in organizing conferences worldwide. Together we share a vision and commitment to produce a grain event for the Asia Region, which is reasonably priced and delivers what it promises.

“We believe that our success in bringing over 900 delegates from more than 60 countries to Global Grain Geneva and our in — depth knowledge and experience in the grain industry, together with CMT’s unique experience in the Asian market, provides us with a strong foundation to attract the grain and oilseeds community within the region to a high quality conference in Singapore.”

Details of exact dates and venue for the event in March 2012 will be announced shortly.
