During the meeting, the deputy chairman of the board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy expressed a willingness on the part of Kazakhstan to create favorable conditions for increasing transit traffic, UkrAgroConsult noted.
Representatives of both railway administrations indicated they would like to see unimpeded deliveries of Kazakh grain and flour through the Uzbek-Afghan border, an elimination of congestion, and the timely return of railway rolling stock, UkrAgroConsult said.
According to UkrAgroConsult, approximately 387,900 tonnes of Kazakh grain has been exported through the Ak Biday Terminal so far this year. The Ak Biday Terminal is located on the East coast of the Caspian Sea in the seaport of Aktau in Kazakhstan and features 11 silos for temporary grain storage with a total capacity of 22,500 tonnes.
