STRASBOURG, FRANCE — At least four people have been injured in a grain silo explosion on June 6 in the southern port area of Strasbourg, France. The cause of the incident is not yet known.
The grain storage facility is owned by the Comptoir Agricole group.
Six others were treated for injuries at the site of the explosion.
A large fire occurred after the explosion. Rescue and security operations utilized 108 firefighters and 60 fire and rescue service machines. An area of 200 meters around the facility was cordoned.
The Comptoir Agricole group is a French-based agriculture cooperative involved in several sectors such as cereals, oilseed crops, animal feed, vegetables, hops, viticulture and green spaces.
