ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, U.S. — Connecting supply with demand and emerging technologies will be the focus of the 2018 Ag Transportation Summit planned July 25-26 at the Westin Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia, U.S.

The event is hosted by the National Grain and Feed Association and the Soy Transportation Coalition and supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service. It brings together leaders from agricultural producer organizations, agribusinesses and government to focus on the importance of inland waterways, rail, truck and vessel transportation to U.S. agriculture.

Sessions will include a port panel discussion, containerization on the inland waterway system, conditions and challenges for the ag transportation system, a rail panel discussion, block chain technology and policy.

After the Summit concludes, the AMS, in cooperation with Washington State University (WSU), Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (TAMAE), will host an “Agricultural Transportation Infrastructure Workshop” on the afternoon of July 26.
