WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — The Canadian Grain Commission announced on Sept. 30 that it has added RSS feeds to its online communication tools. By subscribing to an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed, users receive updates from the website the moment new information is added. To subscribe to one of the feeds, visit www.grainscanada.gc.ca.
"We’re excited about a new way to share information with producers, grain handlers, marketers and buyers. RSS feeds are a great addition because they let subscribers know the moment our website is updated," said Elwin Hermanson, chief commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission.
RSS feeds allow users to have quick access to current information. Producers, for example, need to know before they deliver their grain if a grain company is licensed by the Canadian Grain Commission. By subscribing to an RSS feed, a producer will know the moment the list of licensed companies on the web site is updated. To subscribe free of charge, just go to the RSS icon on the Canadian Grain Commission web site.
The Canadian Grain Commission offers RSS feeds to the most frequently accessed pages on its web site:
- Companies licensed by the Canadian Grain Commission;
- Grain statistics;
- News releases and news tips;
- Official Grain Grading Guide; and
- Variety designation lists.
